A Sports Themed Christmas Gift Guide For Him

Buying gifts for the men in my life always seems a little more difficult than buying for the women. There seem to be less gifting categories as well as less overall choice. Many of the gifts I’ve bought my husband this year would fall into the sports themed Christmas gift category. I’ve spent a lot of time looking for the best of the bunch. The following sports themed gifts and experiences are sure to make any sports loving husband, brother, dad, uncle or grandad (the list goes on) very happy on Christmas morning.

This post is part of a paid collaboration. All words and opinions are my own. Please read my full disclaimer for more information.

FOOTBALL

By some strange coincidence, given that my family and husband are from Norfolk, both my Dad and my husband are Ipswich supporters. Given how well Ipswich Town are currently doing (so I hear), it seemed like it would be a wasted opportunity not to include a couple of football themed gifts. As an early gift I’ve bought my husband and Dad tickets to a home game. I’m a big fan of gifting experiences as well as things, so tickets to events is always a type of gift I have in mind.

There are limitless sports themed christmas gift stocking fillers, some of which are complete tat and some of which are actually pretty good gifts. I like a stocking fillers as much as the next person but I refuse to buy someone something that will just be forgotten in the back of a drawer.

Chocolate footballs or football themed shapes are a great affordable option for any football lover. Yes, they’re a novelty gift but you know they’ll definitely be enjoyed.

Adidas has a huge range of football shirts and most teams have their own website with much more football team merchandise. If in doubt, socks make a good and practical gift, and for the sports lover you can’t go wrong with some classic sports socks.

RUGBY

Rugby isn’t the most popular of sports in my side of the family, but my husbands side represents for us all. My father-in-law has a Harlequin tattoo and even boasts an international rugby cap.

For the rugby lover in your life, I’d recommend checking out the Akuma Sports online custom rugby kit designer which lets you completely customise and personalise your own rugby shirt.

Not on the High Street also offer a lot of unique rugby themed like keyrings or soaps.

GOLF

Golf is by far the most expensive sport that my husband plays. From the never-ending need for new golf balls and tees to the much larger annual fees and splurges on new clubs and golf attire. I can’t say that I understand the hype, but it certainly does provide me with a whole bunch of gifting options.

Type ‘Golf Clothing’ into Google and you’ll see just how much choice there is. From high-street brands like Next to specific golf apparel sites like American Golf my husband never has enough 3/4 zip sweaters or golf appropriate polos.

Callaway is one of the brands I know I can buy from with the confidence that my husband will like whatever it is. This year I’ve bought him a selection of golf balls. Top tip: if he’s not at a professional level yet, get the bright ones so they don’t get lost as easily! Callaway also have some well priced caps which I know are super popular.

MOTOR RACING

My Grandad is definitely the biggest motor racing fan of the family. He doesn’t tend to miss a race (or a snooker game, but unfortunately, gifting in that department is beyond my capabilities). There are countless types of driving experiences, I tend to use Virgin or Buy a Gift.

I love the idea of the sport car perfume from Rituals. Infused with smoky leather, this gift is one of those little luxuries that make great gifts, as people tend not to splurge on this type of thing for themselves.

For more gifting inspiration for him, check out the gifts men actually want (as picked by my husband).
