Introducing Fabriah

There’s something about a good hair day that’s able to boost my confidence tenfold. As a shy 11 year old I hid behind it, and although I’m thankfully more confident now, it’s still a comfort blanket of sorts.

My Hair

…and I have a strong love-hate relationship. It challenges me on a daily basis and thanks me for years of dye with flyaway frizz and little volume. My hair evolution has definitely been dramatic and although I’ve found some products that I love, I think that hair and beauty is always a work in progress. I’m not naturally blonde, so keeping my hair light and bright takes effort and great products. Haircare that’s able to moisturise my fine hair without dragging it down is few and far between, so I cherish those I find.

Merlin Professional Haircare

I’ve recently been trying out a range of Merlin Professional haircare, one of Fabriah’s most popular hair care brands. I’ve been using the following three products for the last month and wanted to share how I’ve been getting on.

Nourish Plus Stabilising Daily Colour Power Shampoo

I really love this shampoo but have personally found it a little too moisturising for everyday use. While it does an amazing job at adding moisture and shine, my fine hair really notices when I stop treating it to volume-boosting shampoo for long periods of time. I began by using this every time I washed my hair (every other day) but have found that reducing use to once a week works best for me. If you have thicker, colour-treated hair I can imagine that this would be perfect for continual use. A bonus is that it smells absolutely incredible.

Raspberry Plus Daily Combination Power Sealer

Daily combination power sealer is basically an elaborate description of ‘conditioner’. This is my favourite of all three products and I’ve been using this, and this alone (in terms of conditioner) since I changed up my routine. It smells incredible- sweet, and a little like raspberry Petit Filous- in a good way. It’s also left my hair feeling incredibly nourished and not weighed down at all (I’ve only been using it on the ends).

Botanical Plus Magnesium Weekly Body Support Power Treatment

I’ve honestly never tried a product quite like this before: a weekly treatment that requires spraying on damp hair and leaving for __ minutes. The concept is essentially the same as a hair mask, only it comes in the form of a spray. It’s designed to revive chemically altered or naturally weak hair (mine is both). Although I was initially sceptical, it does work. Using it leaves my hair visibly stronger and thicker looking. Over the month I’ve used barely any, so it’s definitely one that will last a while so is great value too.

Merlin haircare definitely gets a thumbs up from me. Their products are colour-coded into groups, so for example yellow for very dry hair. The three products I tried varied in category, yet worked brilliantly together. For that reason, I’d really recommend having a nosy at any applicable categories. Mixing and matching may prove more beneficial than religiously sticking to only one.
