Clarins X In The Frow Event | Summer Tote Bag & Beauty Gift

Last Saturday, Victoria from In The Frow hosted an event with Clarins to mark their latest collaboration. I find Victoria the most inspiring creator and have followed her for years, so it was such an honour to be able to celebrate with her. The event also showcased the Clarins new summer 2019 makeup range which launched on Sunday.

THE EVENT

Upon arrival at Debenhams, Oxford Street, we were welcomed with chocolate covered fruit and frozen strawberry mojitos. Although I’d expected the Clarins team there to introduce us to the new range, they also helped us play around with it. Lou from Love Hair by Lou was also on hand to create summer ready hair and kindly freshened up my waves. The event was reasonably intimate so there was plenty of time for Victoria to chat to everyone and to discuss the collaboration. As one of my single biggest content inspirations, finally meeting Victoria and reaffirming how genuine she is in person was certainly an experience.

NEW IN | THE CLARINS 2019 SUMMER COLLECTION

The Clarins x Inthefrow summer tote bag is available as a gift, alongside three travel sized products, to anyone who purchases two Clarins products (one to be skincare). There is a choice of ten different travel products and most of them are generously sized. I opted for the Exfoliating Body Scrub, Tonic Bath & Shower Concentrate and Multi-Active Day Cream. 

BRONZING COMPACTS

The Clarins bronzers are amazing for achieving that effortless sun-kissed look. They’ve launched two new compacts (see below), both boasting gorgeous and practical packaging. My favourite features a blush, the highlight of which provides a beautiful ‘your skin but better’ glow.

SOS PRIMER

Another product perfect for the glow-getter. This primer can be used to provide a glow underneath makeup or even on its own for a natural look. It’s a tinted product which subtlety blurs out smaller blemishes and evens the skin tone.

WATER LIP STAINS

Clarins have launched three new water lip stains as part of their summer ’19 collection. Although I haven’t fallen immediately in love with any of them, I am very impressed by the formula. Lightweight on the lips and incredibly long lasting, these are perfect for stay put holiday looks.

WATERPROOF EYE PENCIL & MASCARA

Unfortunately I didn’t get a great look at either of these. The liner comes in a turquoise shade which I’m afraid I’m not brave enough to experiment with.

STAPLE PRODUCTS | WHAT I BOUGHT

I’ve not experimented much with Clarins makeup but some of their skincare are favourites of mine. Unfortunately, the event was held a day before the launch of the summer 2019 products. Although it was lovely to preview them, we were unable to purchase any of the products on the day.

Purchase-wise, my skincare pick was the PORE-LESS Blur and Matte Stick, which I’ve not used enough to form an opinion of, but which smells incredible. I also picked up the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfecter in shade 06 on the recommendation of Victoria herself. These two products alone qualified me for the In The Frow gift, but I also picked up one of their powder brushes. Quality makeup brushes are such a great investment and Debenhams were offering 10% off of beauty purchases so it was definitely a good time to take advantage.

After following In The Frow for a number of years now, meeting the woman behind it all in real life was almost surreal. I’d like to thank both Victoria and the Clarins team for hosting such a wonderful and well thought out event. I’m already looking forward to the next one!
